VATSALYA- CHILDREN'S RESOURCE CENTRE

Apart from anti-corruption mission ASTRA is also actively associated with child rights mission. The main focus of this mission is to provide alternative education opportunities, home (initially 10 female children) and psychosocial support for children at risk; especially those who are forced to take to streets, join the labour force or are trafficked into the sex trade.

This resource centre for children strives to extend services that include value clarification, basic literacy and numeracy, para-legal education, formal educational assistance, and non-formal education, sports and recreation, and health education and counselling.   We also hope that our presence on the streets in building rapport with these children would also reduce the incidence of child labour/prostitution.
